CA (Cable Muse Network) --Robert Greene '48 Laws of Power, 33 Strategies
of War' stopped by Book Soup Wednesday night to promote his new book, 'The 50th Law' and give his audience a harangue
on fearlessness being a blueprint to success. Like the text in The 50th Law, co-written with music mogul Curtis
“50 Cent” Jackson, Greene provided an abundance of examples to his spectators by mitigating how fear impeded the
evolution of achievement with folks.
“When I say be fearless,
I’m not saying be reckless, but I’m talking about seeing things for what they are and confronting a fear,”
said Greene. “For example, if you have a coworker being manipulative and playing a power game with
you, do something different than your normal course of action with the person. You may want to start being manipulative back
towards the individual or confront the person,” explained Robert.
Greene met Jackson in 2006 when
the rapper reached out to him to get his advice on the strategy he was using with his former protégé The Game
and the strategies that In the Club rapper was implementing in the various business ventures he had outside of the music industry.
Greene says that Jackson’s incredible ambition struck him instantaneously and reminded him of Niccolo Machiavelli’s
definition of the new prince.
“What impressed me so much about
‘Fifty’ was his relentless ambition and fearlessness. Fifty had all of the traits of historical figures such as
Napoleon Bonaparte, Frederick Douglass and Franklin D. Roosevelt. I had researched people like them but never knew truly what
made them tick because they lived in a different era that I did. With Fifty I felt as if I was staring at a living breathing
version of them and knew was a new prince of the 21st century.”
The 50th Law reached the New York Times best-sellers list during
the end of September 2009 to give Greene his fourth best-selling title. The self proclaimed business and streets bible also
added to the accolades of Jackson who, is the first billboard artist to have three top five singles in the same week.
Greene
said that he has already begun working on a new book that will be unlike his previous work.
