“There
is a song I like to sing to remember my mother. It was her favorite song. I try to sing that I never forget her in my life.”

“My name is Slindile Moya, I am 12. I live with 25 other children in a home called Agape.”
In a close up the smiling face of Slindile, she says, “It’s a place where children live. For beautiful children!
(She laughs).” Then her expression changes, “Oh no…” tentatively she continues, “OK, it’s
a place for children where…” Her eyes glaze over in sadness, “it’s a place for children who don’t
have parents”. This story takes you behind her beautiful youthful eyes and into her soul.

This is a wonderful, tragic and joyful, true account of love of family and for the children of Agape, an orphanage
in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. Most of the children at Agape had lost their parents to AIDS/HIV. The documentary (filmed
in a span of three years), brings you from jubilation, to heartache, to the inspiration of the human spirit and its profound
need to persevere against major obstacles. At the core of this documentary are the children of Agape and Slindile Moya. The
lives of these talented children will move you and became part of your heart. The music for the documentary is the innocent
voices of the children. Unabashed to be upstaged in this theatrical documentary were Paul Simon and Alicia Keys.

The heart of Agape is its founder “Grandma” Zodwa Mqadi, her tireless work is briefly recognized
in the documentary but does not go unsung by her children. “The reason I started Agape was to give these children a
home. Why Agape is, Agape is love; meaning God’s love; unconditional love.” said Zodwa. She then reaffirmed, “at
Agape we have unconditional love”.

After
watching this film, the theme song, “We are together, we are family,” should bring new meaning to and
inspire new generations across the globe of the importance of family and unconditional love. With unforgettable
kids, soaring music, and a plot full of surprises, We Are Together arrives as a stirring and uplifting experience
that will stay with you!
