July
4, 2009 (Cable Muse Network) - - Dawn’s goal is to raise a maximum of $500,000 dollars for the Marine Mammal
Center and the International Bird Rescue Research Center (IBRRC). As of this article publication, donations were $1,251
since July 1st 2009. In a published letter, Jay Holcomb, executive director of IBRRC wrote, “Since 1971, the IBRRC has
used Dawn to save the lives of birds and other aquatic animals covered in oil. We discovered that Dawn is an effective way
to clean and rehab animals—strong enough to remove the oil quickly, but mild on their skin and feathers. And Dawn has
been donating their product to us ever since.”
Donations are only made from purchases
on specially marked Dawn bottles and entered online until October 1, 2009.

Dawn Save Wildlife
Dawn was created as a product
of PROCTER & GAMBLE in 1973. Because of Dawn’s grease cutting properties animal rescue groups have used it to “save
thousands of animals for over 35 years,” states P&G's corpirate website.
Actress singer and song
writer, Minnie Driver, well known for her wildlife preservation advocacy is the celebrity force in front of Dawn’s campaign.
According to Dawn’s Saving Wildlife webpage “Her works in the wildlife community led to a partnership with Dawn's
Everyday Wildlife Champions through which she will participate in on-site patient care at Northern California's Marine Mammal
Center, and help spread awareness for wildlife relief efforts nationwide.”
