Review:
BURPEE (Seed Starting) Ultimate Growing System
CMN Review and Videos by Ben Cable and Marcial Bolina
April 18, 2010 –
Phoenix, AZ - (CableMuse.com) BURPEE’s website states this is the “most advanced seed starting system.”
Cable Muse Network put the claims on BURPEE’s website and user comments to the test.
The
Ultimate Growing System was placed in an atrium (glassed in porch). We decided a heated mat (also offered by BURPEE) would
not be required since Phoenix’s March night temperatures were above fifty degrees and should rise in the weeks to come.
For our unscientific test we used BURPEE vegetable and flower seeds; however, we did not use a similar product or seeds for
comparison.
The Cable Muse Network videos are more of a ‘how we did it’ than a ‘how
to video’.

By day three, the majority of plants was breaking ground Lettuce (Heatwave
Blend), Squash (Hybrid Zucchini), Portulaca (Sundial Hybrid Mix), and Zinnia (State Fair mix). Two pepper varieties, Pinata
Mix and Jalapeno Gigante did not break into the sun until week two.
CableMuse.com concluded
the Ultimate Growing System was as promised and produced an abundance of strong seedlings. The system was easy to use and
maintain until the seedlings were ready to transplant. The growing tray is not sturdy however we did not have to cut the cells
to remove the plants as others have posted in BURPEE’s site reviews of the product. (Watch the video Extraction Short Tip from CableMuse.com on YouTube).
The
Ultimate Growing System took little effort, was a lot of fun watching the growth, and produced an abundance of plants in three
days. CableMuse.com gives the BURPEE Ultimate Growing System, Five Stars. The Ultimate Growing System
retails for 19.95 on BURPEE’s website (not including seeds or shipping).
